This is my first blog posting ever! I have lost touch with technology in the past few years - maybe this will get me plugged back in.

As you can tell from the title, my wife Betsy and I recently decided to adopt a child from Kyrgyzstan. Hopefully, we can use this blog to share our story of adoption and to let everyone know what is happening in our lives. We anticipate a challenging, eye-opening and amazing journey over the next few months as we prepare for the blessing of a child in our home. We have just begun filling out all of the paperwork required to adopt a child from Kyrgyzstan; therefore, we can consider ourselves "paper pregnant." God willing, a child who is very likely about to enter the world 7,313 miles away will join our family within the year! Many obstacles will undoubtedly stand between us and our child. We will prayerfully and persistently do everything in our power to bring him or her home to us as soon as we can.

Please keep us in your prayers. Without our faith in Jesus Christ and the love and support of family and friends, this adventure would not go smoothly. However, we know that God can use any situation to strengthen us and, most importantly, to glorify His name.
