**I realized as I was about to publish this post that it includes tons of pictures showing Precious Boy's name... So I guess now is the time for the rest of the world to know the name we have chosen for our little peanut: Caleb. We'll write more later on how & why we chose this name for our son...
On Sunday two wonderful family friends Cathy & Connie gave me an amazing baby shower in Houston. This was not a small undertaking given all that had happened in Houston the previous week with Hurricane Ike! Until a few days before the shower we weren't even sure if there would be electricity! Fortunately Connie's power was restored and we were able to have a fun-filled celebration with family and friends. I was blessed to have many long-time friends there and lots of family members.
The shower was adorable! They used primary colors and toys to decorate and the cake matched everything as well. There was an awesome diaper cake and a framed photo of our first visit with Caleb for everyone to sign.
We got so much awesome stuff! I could hardly believe all the presents, including several of our 'big items' like the stroller, infant carrier & exersaucer. We also got many other wonderful, useful items and lots of personalized gifts too.
It is so humbling to have so many people care for us and be a part of this new phase in our lives. It's overwhelming what God has done for us over the past few months. He has given us a son we prayed for and continued to surround us with loving, supportive friends and family. Their joy for us is incredible and I couldn't ask for a better network of support as we near the end of this journey. To everyone who came to be a part of the special day and to Cathy & Connie for hosting a beautiful shower - thank you very much from the bottom of my heart!

I've been a "lurker" for quite awhile but just wanted to tell you how happy I am for you and your husband. It looks like it was a lovely shower. Congratulations!
